We are a 7th generation Australian family, distillers since 1805! In 1805, Duncan Harris's Irish ancestor, Michael Hayes,
was caught illegal distilling in Sydney in 1805 and was sent to Norfolk Island as punishment.
Duncan's ancestors were an entrepreneurial lot, with one Francois Girard, owning the Sydney
Hotel (1828).
Duncan Harris came to the Swan Valley Wine Region in 1998 to set up his organic vineyard and distilling facilities at the (Swan Valley) Baskerville property.
